“Eco Baltia vide” continues waste management in M\u0101rupe municipality after procurement process<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The environmental management company SIA \u201cEco Baltia vide,\u201d part of the largest environmental resource management and recycling group in the Baltics, AS \u201cEco Baltia,\u201d will continue providing waste management services in both zones of M\u0101rupe Municipality following the results of an open tender announced by the local government. The contract term is seven years, with a total contract value of \u20ac19 million (excluding VAT).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chairman of the Management Board of SIA \u201cEco Baltia vide,\u201d J\u0101nis Aizbalts, <\/strong>emphasizes that M\u0101rupe is one of the municipalities in Latvia that takes a responsible approach to sustainable waste management:<\/strong> \u201cThe tender included several new requirements, including provisions for waste sorting, greener transport for service delivery, and other conditions. Our extensive experience in waste management in Latvia and Lithuania, including the implementation of separate collection infrastructure, has enabled us to provide the most comprehensive and financially advantageous offer, ensuring that the municipality receives a high-quality and sustainability-oriented service.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tender was conducted for service provision in two zones of the municipality \u2013 M\u0101rupe town and parish, as well as Bab\u012bte and Sala parishes. \u201cEco Baltia vide\u201d submitted the most financially advantageous and suitable offer for waste management in both zones, and from 1st<\/sup> of June, the company will continue providing services according to the new procurement regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In M\u0101rupe town and parish, as well as Bab\u012bte and Sala parishes, \u201cEco Baltia vide\u201d has been operating under the procurement regulations for more than ten years. During this period, in addition to managing unsorted waste, the company has introduced various waste sorting solutions, including the collection of packaging, glass containers, biological waste, electrical appliances, textiles, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the new procurement contract, clients will now have the opportunity to receive free container cleaning and disinfection twice a year (previously once a year), as well as apply for smaller-sized containers, thereby encouraging better waste sorting habits. Additionally, a customer self-service platform will be introduced, allowing clients to easily request services, track waste collection schedules, and access other features aimed at improving service quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Nowadays, waste management is no longer just about emptying containers and transporting waste to a landfill. We strive to stay one step ahead by promoting maximum resource recovery, thereby preserving natural resources. Last year, we opened the Resource Management Center, where waste from M\u0101rupe Municipality is also sorted. This allows us to return more resources into circulation, turning them into new raw materials. At the same time, we focus on service sustainability by introducing environmentally friendly transport solutions and transitioning to digital solutions, which not only enhance our efficiency but also accelerate the company’s overall development<\/em>,” says J.
